How to smash

Fun for all!

Multiple modes and options mean everyone can play. In Smash, select your stages, set the rules and play with up to eight players total. Or, create a team of three or five fighters and take on your opponent's squad one by one in Squad Strike. And that's just the beginning!

Spirits let you simulate battles between characters from more series than ever before, so see how many you can collect! Fighters can join forces with spirits to enhance their powers. While primary spirits enhance fighters' stats, support spirits lend them additional skills. Once the primary spirit and support spirits are set, your fighter's all powered up!

More than 100 stages!

Returning stages have been powered up, and every stage has Battlefield and Final Destination versions. There are plenty of surprise Stage Hazards to discover, including stages that change shape and guest characters that suddenly appear. Plus, with Stage Morph, choose the two stages you want to use and they'll automatically switch after a certain amount of time.

Pick your favourite themed music for battle stages and set your background music. There are more than 800 tracks in total!

The items that appear on stage can be the key to victory - if you use them correctly! Pokémon can also leap from Poké Balls and Master Balls to support you in battle, and you can get help from guest characters with Assist Trophies!

Challenger Pack 2: Hero

Prepare for a heroic encounter - DRAGON QUEST's Hero joins the battle in Challenger Pack 2! Choose from four heroes from the legendary RPG series, including the protagonist of DRAGON QUEST® XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition. This set also contains a new stage, Yggdrasil's Altar, music from the DRAGON QUEST series, a Hero route in Classic Mode, and a DRAGON QUEST-themed DLC Spirit Board.

Challenger Pack 3: Banjo & Kazooie

The bear-bird duo Banjo & Kazooie is raring to go in Challenger Pack 3! Do battle with beak, attack with eggs and whallop foes with Wonderwing - they really are perfect partners! This set also contains a new stage, Spiral Mountain, music from the Banjo-Kazooie series, a Banjo & Kazooie route in Classic Mode and a Banjo-Kazooie-themed DLC Spirit Board. Guh-huh!

Challenger Pack 4: Terry Bogard

"Hey, c'mon c'mon!" FATAL FURY's Terry Bogard joins the fight in Challenger Pack 4. Face down foes with furious attacks, including signature moves like Power Wave and Burning Knuckle - under certain circumstances, he can even pull off Super Special Moves! This set also contains a new stage, King of Fighters Stadium, a Terry Bogard route in Classic Mode, a DLC Spirit Board and a whopping selection of 50 music tracks from FATAL FURY, THE KING OF FIGHTERS and other SNK series!

Challenger Pack 5: Byleth

"Let the lesson begin!" Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses joins Smash House in Challenger Pack 5. Use a variety of Heroes' Relics, including the Sword of the Creator, to teach your foes what Super Smash Bros. is all about! This set also contains a new stage, Garreg Mach Monastery, a Byleth route in Classic Mode, a DLC Spirit Board and 11 music tracks from the Fire Emblem series.

His colour variations give you several options from the original games. Keep opponents at bay with three types of Magic, or take advantage of Sora's exceptional airborne potential, and pursue victory from the air! The new stage Hollow Bastion features a floating platform that will travel around the castle. Towards the end of the battle, the background will change to a dark stage with floating stained glass. There are nine music tracks that will invoke memories of adventures with Sora. Be sure to check out the fanfare that was arranged especially for this game! ● Kazuya Challenger Pack Kazuya from the Tekken series is joining the battle! Kazuya can make use of a wide range of command-input moves. For his special moves, he'll awaken the Devil Gene that lurks within his body to become Devil Kazuya.
