How to Unlink a PayPal Account from a Nintendo Account

Instructions on unlinking PayPal information that has been saved to a Nintendo Account.

Additional Information

  • Linked PayPal account information can be deleted on the Nintendo Switch eShop or through your profile settings on your Nintendo account. Deleting the information in one place will also delete it from the other.

Complete These Steps

Do you want to unlink the PayPal account through the Nintendo Switch eShop or through your Nintendo Account profile settings?

  • Nintendo Switch eShop

    1. Select "Nintendo eShop" on the HOME Menu to launch the Nintendo eShop.

    2. Select the Nintendo Account with the PayPal account that you want to unlink.

    3. Select the picture of your icon in the upper-right corner to access your Account Information.

    4. Part of the e-mail address associated to the PayPal account will appear in the “PayPal” section. Click “Unlink.”

    5. Click “Unlink” again to confirm.

  • Website (Nintendo Account profile settings)

    1. Visit the Nintendo login site here and sign in to your Nintendo Account.

    2. Click “Nintendo Account” in the upper-left corner of the screen to access your account settings.

    3. Select “Shop Menu.”

    4. Part of the e-mail address associated to the PayPal account will appear in the “PayPal” section. Click “Unlink.”

      • If a PayPal account has not been linked to the Nintendo Account, the PayPal area will say “Not set.”

    5. Click “Unlink” again to confirm.
