What Are the Different Roles in a Nintendo Account Family Group?
Information:
There are four different roles that can exist in a family group. Each role can perform different functions.
A Nintendo Account can have more than one role. For example, an admin aged 18+ will automatically also be assigned a parent / guardian role within the family group.
All current members and roles in your family group are listed in the “Family Group” section of your Nintendo Account settings.
If one person in the family group purchases a Nintendo Switch Online family membership, all members of the family group will be covered for as long as they remain in the purchaser's family group. Anyone aged 18+ can purchase a family membership; they do not have to be an account admin.
Role | Age | Number | This account can: |

(Other types of parental controls can be managed on-device and/or via smart device app.) • Leave the family group. |
Supervised | Any. | Up to 7 | • Supervised Nintendo Accounts can use the standard Nintendo Account features (Nintendo eShop, My Nintendo, etc), but cannot perform any functions within the family group. |
