Bass the time with a bit of fishing in these games!

For some, one of the best parts of gaming is submerging into cod-pletely different worlds. But sometimes you may eel like you need to scale back from the main storyline and krill out. Well, we’ve got a list you may want to sea!

Each of the games below give you an oppor-tuna-ty to take a break from the main narrative and tackle a little fishing. We’ve even added some tips we hope will help your fishing go swimmingly!

Scour the mysterious, every-changing Blue Hole to find fresh (and sometimes unlikely) ingredients during the day, then become the talk of the town by serving up interesting (and profitable) sushi at night.

Tip: The depths can be dangerous, so make sure to upgrade your equipment. Try to focus on carrying weight and oxygen first.

Create the farm of your dreams in Stardew Valley. Armed with hand-me-down tools and a few coins, you can tackle catching fish, raising animals, crafting items, and tending to crops—the choice is yours!

Tip: If you’re having a hard time reeling in fish, try attaching a Trap Bobber to your rod. This will make it much harder for fish to escape.

Set out for adventure in a transformed and expanded Hyrule. Harness the power of Link’s abilities to fight back against the malevolent forces that threaten the kingdom.

Tip: A fishing rod? Link has his mitts! Jump into fishing holes to grab fish or use arrows, bombs, and whatever else you have on hand. May we suggest tossing in Yellow Chuchu Jelly?

Explore remote isles and their surrounding depths to unravel the sinister secrets that lie below. Do some fishing, scour the sea for valuables, and meet the locals. Did we mention face unfathomable creatures?

Tip: If you spot disturbed water with green and gold swirling above it, you may find something a bit more valuable (if not just plain creepy).

Escape to a deserted island and craft everything from tools to creature comforts as you create and customize your island community.

Tip: You can find different fish and sea creatures depending on the season, time of day, and even the weather! Check the Critterpedia and in-game Nook Phone app to see what fish you’ve caught and the best conditions to catch them.

Craft, cook, fish, and farm with friends as you live off the land in this free-to-play game. Discover an enchanting adventure filled with colorful characters and a mystery to unravel.

Tip: If you see a ring of bubbles with fish jumping out of the water, you’ve found a fishing hotspot! These will yield Star Quality fish or a Waterlogged Chest.
