What is DAVE THE DIVER? Well, if you want to get technical about it, it’s a diving, harpooning, action-adventuring, sushi restaurant managing experience. (And it only gets weirder from there.)

OK, let’s take a step back(stroke) a moment …

What kind of game is this?

This single-player adventure RPG features deep-sea exploration and fishing during the day and sushi restaurant management at night. Basically, you’ll catch all manner of fish to help your sushi chef, Bancho, come up with new recipes. You’ll meet an eclectic cast of characters as you uncover the secrets of the Blue Hole, a mysterious location with over 200 kinds of sea creatures. What will you discover down there?

Combat, crafting, and creatures

“Fishing” may be a little misleading here—yes, you’ll use a harpoon, but you’ll also be able to find and equip weapons like rifles, dart guns, baseball bats, and grenade launchers (yeah, sea life can get a little rough). There are also roguelike elements as you discover resources to upgrade Dave’s equipment and craft better tools. Just remember that running out of oxygen means leaving your treasures and fish behind!

Eccentric characters with a lighthearted narrative

Get to know quirky and lovable characters in a story full of in-jokes and odd situations. You can say that it puts the “har har” in “harharpoon.” (You probably won’t say that.) 

A sea of content

In addition to diving and restaurant management, there are minigames, side quests, and multiple storylines to experience. We won’t spoil anything, but they can be a bit, um, unexpected.
