Mythical Pokémon from Kitakami discovered

Mysterious shop decoration is actually a Pokémon from Kitakami’s past epilogue for The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero is available to play now!

Today, the Pokémon Company International introduced Pecharunt, the Subjugation Pokémon - a newly discovered Mythical Pokémon now available in The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet (1).

Claim a Mythical Pecha Berry and Head to the Land of Kitakami

The epilogue for The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero is available to play now. Claim a Mythical Pecha Berry via Mystery Gift (2) and head to Peachy’s in Mossui Town, Kitakami, to discover a mysterious link with the newly discovered Pokémon, Pecharunt.

To play the epilogue, you will need to complete a certain postgame event in your Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game, as well as finish the stories of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet - Part 1: The Teal Mask and Part 2: The Indigo Disk.

Pecharunt

Somewhere in the land of Kitakami, the Mythical Pokémon Pecharunt has been awaiting its time to reawaken.

This Pokémon rolls up poison secreted from its shell to make Binding Mochi, which is served to people and Pokémon. Pecharunt then uses chains to control those who eat its Binding Mochi, which is not only delicious but also appears to bring out the deepest desires and powers of those who eat it. Pecharunt can also be very sly. For example, it will feign weakness by weeping and acting like a baby to gain the sympathy of others.

There is a theory that long ago, Pecharunt travelled to the land of Kitakami with the Loyal Three, each of whom it had subjugated using its Binding Mochi – all to obtain certain masks coveted by an elderly couple who lived with Pecharunt.

Pecharunt found itself embroiled in a battle with Ogerpon over the masks – ultimately resulting in Pecharunt’s defeat. It withdrew into its shell and, over time, became known to the locals as the Never-rotting Peach. What appears to be a mere decoration in a shop is, in fact, Pecharunt eagerly awaiting its time to return.​

Pecharunt’s Posion Puppeteer is a new Ability introduced for the first time in The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero for Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet. This Ability causes Pokémon that are poisoned or badly poisoned by Pecharunt’s moves to also become confused.

Pecharunt’s new move, Malignant Chain, is an attack that launches a chain of poison that may leave its target badly poisoned.
