The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is out now!
A darkness has seeped into the kingdom of Hyrule. As ordinary folks go about their daily lives, mysterious rifts are tearing through the lands and swallowing up entire areas—along with the people! Even a heroic swordsman named Link has disappeared into a rift—without him, who is to save the day?!
Do we even need to ask?
Armed with a powerful staff called the Tri Rod, Princess Zelda must now team up with an ethereal creature named Tri and explore the expansive lands of Hyrule to mend the rift-filled kingdom. However, in the Legend of Zelda™: Echoes of Wisdom game, you don’t just rely on your strength and courage to solve puzzles and take down baddies. Zelda has more… creative methods.
The strength of Wisdom
After acquiring the Tri Rod, Zelda can use it to create “echoes,” imitations of things that she finds as she explores Hyrule. Beds, pots, monsters, trampolines—you can make lots of different things in this game. How you approach obstacles depends on you and the echoes you’ve found. For example, let’s look at two ways of doing something:
Possible scenario #1: Hey, let’s avoid the enemies! We can create a trampoline echo to reach a higher ledge.
Possible scenario #2: Hey, let’s defeat the enemies! We can jump on a trampoline echo while holding a Crow echo to glide behind enemies, and then use a Ignizol echo to take them out all at once.
Just remember that every encounter—whether it’s with an enemy or environmental puzzle—is like its own little mini-puzzle. It’s up to you how you want to play the game!
Dungeon explorer
Zelda’s investigation of the rifts will lead to the Still World—a place where you’ll take on dungeons filled with enemies, puzzles, and monstrous bosses. Just remember to experiment with different echoes when approaching an obstacle.
In addition to creating echoes, Zelda also has a few more powerful abilities. Use Bind to make objects follow Zelda’s movements, or Reverse Bond to follow an object’s movements. You can also use a mysterious sword to transform into the powerful swordfighter form (but you’ll revert forms after a meter runs out—so plan ahead!).
Travel off the beaten path
Hyrule is a big place, and there’s a lot to discover. There are eccentric characters, side quests, minigames, outfits, accessories, delicious smoothies, and more. As you explore different regions, you’ll help locals, tackle dungeons, learn echoes, and then use those echoes to tackle even more situations in creative ways!
(Oh, and heads up: You can also scan any The Legend of Zelda™ themed amiibo™ figures* to get in-game rewards like smoothie ingredients and certain outfits in alternate colors.)
