Prince of the kingdom of Altea, and successor to the hero Anri, who once defeated the Shadow Dragon, Medeus. After his homeland is destroyed by the forces of the Dolhr Empire, led by a revived Medeus, Marth flees to the island kingdom of Talys. He takes up arms first to defend Talys against a pirate attack, and eventually to deliver the whole continent from the threat posed by the Dolhr Empire.
