Scare up some fun with these skeletons

Skeletons. We all have them. Tibia honest, they can sometimes be taken for granted. But make no bones about it, today we’re going to dust off a few skeletons in our closet so they can have their time to spine in the sun.

As part of this spooktacular season, we’ve collected a bunch of important skeletons from different video games. Whether they tickle your funny bone with humerus jokes or get your blood pumping with marrow escapes, this fibula-ous bunch is much more than skin deep.

Return to Monkey Island

Avast, ye landlubbers! While dead men tell no tales, a demonic skull named Murray definitely does! What he lacks in a body, he makes up in spirit—he’s sure to give Guybrush some helpful info and vital tips. Or…it’s going to be the exact opposite of that. Yeah, it’s definitely one of those options.

Hades

On his journey to leave the Underworld, Zagreus will fight all kinds of bony minions with his fantastically divine weaponry. However, it’s his lone trainer partner named Skelly who truly shows him the ropes. Before setting out, have Zag test out new builds on this helpful skeleton—don’t worry, Skelly is happy to help.

Luigi’s Mansion™ 3

As Luigi braves the spooky halls of the Unnatural History Museum, an ominous shadow casts over him… the shadow of a T-Rex skeleton! To beat this towering boss, you may need to improvise in eggciting ways. (And yes, this skeleton is technically being possessed by a ghost—but it still counts!)

Undertale

What can a list of skeletons be without Sans and Papyrus? These skin-deficient brothers are much loved by fans and have a knack for speaking with overused fonts. No matter how you play Undertale, your destiny will intertwine with these two fellows.

NieR:Automata The End of YoRHa Edition

There are many secrets in the world of NieR, but one of the strangest ones has a skull-like head and the body of a cart—say hello to Emil! So, you want to know what’s up with this heady shopkeeper? Err, let’s just say it’s complicated.

The Legend of Zelda™: Link’s Awakening

In the depths of Catfish’s Maw, Link must fight Master Stalfos not one, not two, not three, not four…err, wait a sec, it actually is four times (boy, he really must have a bone to pick with Link). Master Stalfos is sporting some fancy armor and a shield, so you may need to alter your normal strategies.

DARK SOULS™: REMASTERED

Sure to send a chill down your spine, Gravelord Nito rules over the dead in The Catacombs. We use the term “dead” loosely here because overachieving skeletons will animate—and reanimate—as you fight the head honcho. Gravelord Nito is also the most skeletal of this bunch—he’s literally a bunch of skeletons mashed together!

Skul: The Hero Slayer

In this fast-paced action rogue-lite, you play as a…oh c’mon, do you really need us to say it? As you face off against hordes of powerful foes, just don’t lose your head. Actually, never mind—losing your head is very much encouraged in this game!
