How to Charge the Nintendo 64 Controller
In this article, you'll learn how to charge the Nintendo 64 Controller for use with Nintendo Switch consoles.
Note
- It takes approximately 3.5 hours to fully charge a Nintendo 64 Controller.
- Once the Nintendo 64 Controller is fully charged, the recharge LED beside the USB connector will turn off.
- The Nintendo 64 Controller can also be charged by connecting it to a licensed accessory.

The Nintendo 64 Controller can be charged in the following ways:
While connected directly to the Nintendo Switch AC adapter.
Connect the Nintendo Switch AC adapter (model HAC-002) to the USB port at the top of the Nintendo 64 Controller, then to a wall outlet.
While connected to the Nintendo Switch dock.
- Connect the Nintendo Switch AC adapter to the dock and then to a wall outlet.
- The Nintendo Switch console does not need to be placed in the dock in order to charge the Nintendo 64 Controller.
- Connect the USB charging cable to an available USB port on the dock, then to the USB port at the top of the Nintendo 64 Controller.
