    How to Report Inappropriate or Offensive Content (Game Builder Garage)

    Notes

    • Games created by others can only be found and downloaded after entering a unique Game ID or Programmer ID, so we recommend only searching for games from creators you know and trust. There is no feature for browsing everyone’s uploaded creations.
    • Nintendo Switch Parental Controls can be set to restrict the ability to view and share user-generated content online.
    • If you have downloaded a game, it will be deleted from your saved games in Game Builder Garage after reporting.

    Players can report inappropriate games or game titles that have been uploaded in Game Builder Garage to Nintendo for review. Any content that violates Nintendo’s Code of Conduct will be deleted.

    Complete these steps

    Have you already downloaded the game in Game Builder Garage?

    1. Launch Game Builder Garage and select Free Programming.
    2. Open the game you wish to report.
    3. If needed, play the game until the inappropriate content is on screen, then press the – Button to open the pause menu.
    4. Press the R Button or tap the Report icon in the top-right of the screen.
      • If there is no Report icon, then the game was created by a user on your Nintendo Switch console. You can delete the game from your list of saved games by returning to the Free Programming menu. From there, highlight the game, press the X Button, and select Delete.
    5. Select OK to confirm that you want to report the content.
    6. Select the type of report you are submitting from the available options.
    7. Type a detailed reason for the report in the available section.
    8. Select Report to submit the report. The game will be deleted from your saved games after the report is submitted.
    1. Launch Game Builder Garage and select Receive from the Free Programming menu.
    2. Search for the game you want to report by entering the Game ID or Programmer ID.
    3. Press the R Button or tap the Report icon in the top-right of the screen.
    4. Select OK to confirm that you want to report the content.
    5. Select the type of report you are submitting from the available options.
    6. Type a detailed reason for the report in the available section.
    7. Select Report to submit the report.
