How to Set Up Local or Online Multiplayer (Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!/Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!)
Instructions on trading or battling with another player in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!.
Additional Information:
- Two players who each have a copy of Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! can battle or trade with each other online or via local wireless connection.
- A Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to use the online multiplayer features.
Complete These Steps:
- On both consoles, launch Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! from the HOME Menu.
- Press the X Button during gameplay to access the in-game menu.
- Select “Communicate”.
- This option becomes available after you have battled your rival for the first time.
- Select “Play With Others”.
- Select “Nearby player” to connect via local wireless or “Faraway player” to connect with another player online.
- A Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to connect online.
- Select “Yes” if you are prompted to save your game.

Trade Pokémon Battle Another Player
- Select “Link Trade” on both consoles.
- Two rows of Pokémon pictures will appear. Have one player (Player 1) select three Pokémon pictures. These will appear at the top of Player 1’s screen. (This is the “link code”.)
- Have Player 2 select the same three Pokémon pictures. The Pokémon at the top of both screens should match.
- Once the code is entered on both consoles, the games will search for each other and connect together.
- On both consoles, choose a Pokémon to trade, then select “Offer as trade”.
- Select “Trade Pokémon” to complete the trade.
- Select “Single Battle” or “Double Battle” on both consoles.
- Two rows of Pokémon pictures will appear. Have one player (Player 1) select three Pokémon pictures. These will appear at the top of Player 1’s screen. (This is the “link code”.)
- Have Player 2 select the same three Pokémon pictures. The Pokémon at the top of both screens should match.
- Once the code is entered on both consoles, the games will search for each other and connect together.
- Adjust the rules as desired and select the Pokémon to battle.
- When ready, select “Confirm” on both consoles to begin the battle!
