IRONFALL Invasion is a third-person sci-fi shooter, available to download from Nintendo eShop* on Nintendo 3DS family systems, including Nintendo 2DS. IRONFALL Invasion contains some free content, allowing you to try out the game by playing the first mission of the adrenaline-pumping campaign or local and online multiplayer clashes with one arena, one character and two weapons. You can choose to expand your enjoyment with the purchasable IRONFALL Invasion: Campaign or IRONFALL Invasion: Multiplayer modes, available to purchase separately from within the game, or together as a bundle.

In IRONFALL Invasion: Campaign, join the resistance and reclaim Earth from an army of invaders who won’t go down without a fight! Take aim at the menacing Dyxides, an alien civilisation that has seized control of the planet. With the numbers stacked against you and a relentless war raging wherever you go, make careful use of cover and find vantage points to advance upon your enemies. Use a wide range of weapons to fight your cause and take back the planet at all costs!

In IRONFALL Invasion: Multiplayer, jump into intense battles with up to six players in local and online multiplayer matches. Face all the other players at once in a free-for-all frenzy, or work together in teams of two or three.

IRONFALL Invasion’s purchasable game modes offer you the chance to save the world from the dangerous Dyxides, or test your skills against other players in multiplayer skirmishes, either online or via Local Play.

You can download IRONFALL Invasion from Nintendo eShop* to try out both IRONFALL Invasion: Campaign and IRONFALL Invasion: Multiplayer without charge. You can play the first mission of IRONFALL Invasion: Campaign, or play online and local multiplayer matches with a limited number of characters, arenas and weapons. You can choose to expand the game with the IRONFALL Invasion: Campaign or IRONFALL Invasion: Multiplayer modes, available to purchase separately from within the game, or together as a bundle.

Purchasable Game Mode – IRONFALL Invasion: Campaign

In the near future, Earth has fallen to an invasion from a destructive race of aliens, the Dyxides. After the majority of Earth’s military forces are purged, a resistance movement known as IronFall rises from the ashes to fight back and reclaim the planet.

As Jim Woper, an ex-lieutenant of the US Marine Corps, help lead the resistance movement against the Earth’s alien overlords in IRONFALL Invasion: Campaign. Take the fight straight to the Dyxides in 11 action-packed levels set in locations all over the globe, from hotels and underground laboratories to canyons and volcanoes. At certain points, you’ll also have to complete minigames to progress: hack door panels, disarm bombs, and more!

Woper is one of the few fighters in possession of the powerful EX16 armour, which allows him to take more than his fair share of punishment from his enemies – but even with this potent tool and an arsenal of powerful weapons on your side, the Dyxides are not to be underestimated. Occasionally you’ll take control of Samantha Finch, an ex-NYPD detective who relies more upon her stealth and cunning to progress unharmed.

In addition to the story mode, IRONFALL Invasion: Campaign also includes 78 challenges to test your skills. Show your skills off by sharing your challenge records with other players via StreetPass.

Purchasable Game Mode – IRONFALL Invasion: Multiplayer

Face other players in exhilarating multiplayer matches online or via Local Play. IRONFALL Invasion: Multiplayer gives you access to the full range of characters, weapons, arenas and features to make the multiplayer mayhem even more memorable.

Up to six players can join each match. Choose between free-for-all matches, where it’s everybody for themselves and all players in the arena are the enemy, or join forces with other fighters in team battles, either with 2 teams of 2, 3 teams of 2 or 2 teams of 3. Each player carries a light weapon and a heavy weapon into battle, so experiment with each weapon, find your favourite loadout and dole out the damage! If you’re feeling lucky, you can also bet in-game credits on matches – but be careful, as your credits are directly tied to your player rank!

On top of the multiplayer battles, IRONFALL Invasion: Multiplayer also gives you access to the Survivor mode, giving you the chance to train solo against CPU-controlled opponents. Destroy as many Dyxides as possible before the timer runs out, and share your records with other players via StreetPass.

Bonuses

If you choose to purchase both additional game modes you’ll gain access to an additional multiplayer weapon, the HR pistol.

Gameplay

Take up arms and go to war with the Dyxides or compete with other players in third-person shooter action. Whether you’re playing single-player or multiplayer, IRONFALL Invasion is all about sharp shooting and downing foes as fast as possible. If you want even more action, you can choose to purchase the additional game modes IRONFALL Invasion: Campaign or IRONFALL Invasion: Multiplayer. You can gain access to all story missions, multiplayer arenas, weapons, and more.

In IRONFALL Invasion, making use of cover is just as important as perfecting your aim. Charging straight at your enemies isn’t going to get you anywhere; duck out of harm’s way behind crates, pillars and other barricades, take your time and shoot from safe spots. No area will remain secure forever, though, so stay on the move and always watch out for new places to take cover.

It’s also vital to keep an eye on your heart rate, shown on the Touch Screen – if it reaches 200, your situation will become unbearable and your mission will end! Your heart rate will increase quickly when enemy shots hit home, so drop into cover or escape the action for a moment to recover. Running or performing high-concentration actions like sniping will up your pulse, too, but your own actions won’t cause you to fail. Keep an eye on how hard you can push yourself while staying on mission.

Controls

You can fight off the Dyxide invasion with a number of different control schemes. Stomp forth using the system’s Circle Pad, firing upon foes with the L Button or R Button, and use the Touch Screen to turn and aim. While using the Touch Screen, you can also tap icons to dodge into cover or reload your weapon. If you prefer, it’s possible to direct your view and aim with classic button controls, too.

If you play on New Nintendo 3DS or New Nintendo 3DS XL, you can use your systems’ C Stick to aim quickly and precisely to pick off your enemies. On Nintendo 3DS, you can also use the Nintendo 3DS Circle Pad Pro (sold separately) to target enemies.

When you’re in a pinch in a fast-paced skirmish, you can fire at enemies straight from the hip – but if you want a more accurate shot, aim down your weapon’s iron sights. You can also adjust aim and camera sensitivity or set aim inversion, so you can adjust your settings until you’re at your most deadly.

Weapons

Despite the Dyxide’s victory over Earth, the IronFall resistance is quite well stocked with weaponry. Weapons are divided into categories, light and heavy, and each have their own advantages.

Pay attention when you reload your weapon: hit the reload button again at just the right time, and you’ll complete the action faster and also receive bonus ammunition!

Assault rifle: a standard-issue machine gun with a high rate of fire.

Botgun: the Dyxide’s potent version of the assault rifle.

Shotgun: packs a punch at close range, but has a low rate of fire.

Sniper rifle: powerful over long distances, with a zoom function to take down far away foes.

Rocket launcher: extremely destructive, this weapon can take down most targets in one shot.

Characters

Meet some of the key players of IRONFALL Invasion.

Jim Woper is an ex-lieutenant of the US Marine Corps and part of the resistance movement known as IronFall. He owns one of the few sets of functional EX16 exoskeleton armour.

Samantha Finch was a detective with the NYPD before the Dyxides invaded. Now she’s part of the IronFall resistance.

Rusty Flemming is a scientist who disappeared around the time of the invasion. He is the creator of the EX16 exoskeleton armour sported by Jim Woper.

The Dyxides are Earth’s invaders: a robotic alien army that consists of humanoid soldiers, drones and other deadly foes. It’s your job to repel and neutralise the threat – can you rise to the challenge?
