On a peculiar far away planet, a group of space travellers are stranded and awaiting rescue. Are you the right rescuer for the job? Pick up their SOS signals and explore an uncharted world inhabited by a curious crop of creatures.
Thankfully, some of them are friends, not foes! Meet the Pikmin – these spirited helpers might be small in stature, but boast strength in numbers. Grow, gather and guide them to tackle tasks big and small.
Explore, hunt for treasure in vast open areas, battle wild critters, solve puzzles and rescue the stranded travellers together.

A cute canine companion
Oatchi, the adorable Rescue Pup, will also join you on your adventure. This dependable companion can smash obstacles, transport heavy objects and carry you and a whole host of Pikmin on his back.
Oatchi can also learn to jump, doggy-paddle, swiftly rush enemies and more. With the help of Oatchi and the Pikmin, no challenge is too big!
Meet the Pikmin!
Pikmin come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colours. Use their miniature might and some strategy to overcome any and all challenges.
You can only take three types with you at any one time, so choose wisely. All others will be waiting safely in the Onion, which acts as both a nest and a ship for the Pikmin.
Red Pikmin
As their fiery colour suggests, these Pikmin don’t fear the flames. They blaze brightly in battle too, boasting powerful attacks.
Yellow Pikmin
These Pikmin are high flyers, literally! Toss them to grab hard-to-reach objects or use their resistance to electricity to handle any electric situations.
Treasure hunt!
As you progress through your adventure, you’ll discover useful raw materials that can be used to construct bridges, craft helpful gear and more.
Be on the lookout for sparkly things too! These treasures contain Sparklium – a valuable energy source. Use it to power up your spaceship and expand your planetary search for stranded travellers.
Explore and take it all in at your own pace. Just don’t forget to pick up any stray Pikmin and head back to your ship before the sun sets!
Cavernous caves
Puzzling challenges, strange creatures and powerful bosses await you in caves scattered across the planet. Time flows differently in these dark, dank depths, so descend and explore at your own pace, but be wary – the Onion can’t join you underground.
Fortunately, in certain caves, you’ll discover a variety of wild Pikmin who are happy to help. Traverse the treacherous caverns, grab treasure, and be on the lookout for stranded explorers. There are multiple levels to many caves, so check every nook and cranny.
If things aren’t going your way, head back to the surface and try again another day!
A bump in the night
Are you a seasoned planetary explorer looking for a challenge? Then test your mettle in night expeditions fraught with danger and more aggressive creatures! Your mission – defend structures containing glow sap, a precious substance that enemy critters are eager to get their paws on.
Newly discovered Glow Pikmin that have adapted to the darkness will be on hand to assist you. Use their combined strength to keep attacking creatures at bay until sunrise.
The art of efficiency
Is being organised your super power? Like to work at maximum efficiency? Put those skills to the test in Dandori battles – solo or against another player on the same console.
Command Pikmin and race against the clock to collect as many treasures and creatures within the time limit.
When playing against an opponent, race to pick up bonus finds for extra points and collect mystery capsules to rain down lightning or rocks on them. The most organised and efficient explorer wins!
