  • Sample city living in Animal Crossing: Let’s Go to the City

    26/03/2009

Hanging around the town you’ve created in Animal Crossing: Let’s Go to the City yields no shortage of options for how to spend your day. But if you’re looking for a change of pace, it’s nice to know you’re just a bus ride away from the city.

In the city you can find rare items of furniture for your house at the Gracie Grace department store, enjoy a show (and learn new facial expressions) at the Marquee theatre, or place a bid on something really unique at the auction house. Then you could always pay a visit to "antique" dealer Crazy Redd, take care of business at the bank or find out how your town house measures up by speaking to the folks at the Happy Room Academy.

There are also some interesting sights to see off the beaten track for the more savvy city explorer. Take the Resetti Surveillance Center, for example, where you’ll find the ever-cheerful mole, Mr. Resetti hanging out. The entrance to the Resetti Surveillance Center lies to the far right of the city, but is usually blocked by some traffic cones. On certain nights after 8 p.m., however, you’ll find one of these cones has been removed – allowing you access to a curious new area, and a special gift from Mr. Resetti.

In the city you can also pay a visit to Katrina the fortune teller. And just in case you thought she was taking your money for nothing, you might like to know that as well as telling you your fortune, Katrina can also change it. After a visit to Katrina, you could find yourself being blanked by fellow townsfolk, shaking more money than usual from trees or falling over occasionally when you run. Cough up 100 Bells and see what simple twist of fate is in store for you!

Finally, keep in mind that when you go to the city could determine what you see there. Taking a trip on a sunny day might mean that Phineas the walrus is around. This suave fellow lives to spread cheer, and will reward you with a balloon, pinwheel or bubble wand if you simply say hello!

Before you round off your day in the city, you should really consider the option of getting a makeover at Shampoodle salon. Inside, Harriet can give your hairstyle an overhaul for a mere 3000 Bells. For the same price (after an initial free trial, of course), you can also ask your favourite stylist to give you a complete makeover that leaves you looking like any of the Mii characters you have created. Thankfully, the procedure doesn’t result in your character enduring a head transplant, but rather provides you with a Mii mask that can be removed at your convenience.

Go downtown and see another side of life in Animal Crossing: Let’s Go to the City!

P.S. If you’re already playing Animal Crossing: Let’s Go to the City, don’t forget that it’s Lolly’s birthday this Friday!
