We’re thrilled to announce that we’ll be at EGX 2019 and we’ll have plenty of things happening, including a great selection of Nintendo Switch games to play, tournaments to get involved in and even a cosplay competition with a The Legend of Zelda theme.
Pokémon Sword, Pokémon Shield, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, Ring Fit Adventure, TRIALS of MANA, A Hat in Time and more will be playable on the Nintendo stand! Check out the full list of playable titles below:
If you visit us during EGX 2019, be sure to pick up a stamp card from the staff so you can enter our contest! To take part you need to obtain a stamp card from Nintendo representatives and collect at least four stamps. You'll receive a stamp by playing the following titles: Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, Ring Fit Adventure, Luigi’s Mansion 3 and Super Mario Maker 2. Once your stamp card is complete with at least four stamps, you have a chance to win a Nintendo Switch Lite console and a copy of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening in the daily draw and a further chance to win a Nintendo Switch console and a copy of Luigi's Mansion 3 in the online draw!
To enter the daily draw, simply submit your completed stamp card to a Nintendo representative at the Tournament Zone registration desk by 4:30pm on 17th October, 18th October, 19th October or 20th October. Each day, one winner will be drawn at random at 5:30pm on the Nintendo Stage on each of these dates and notified immediately. To enter the online draw, simply take a picture of your completed stamp card and publish it on Twitter using the hashtag #EGX2019 along with the Twitter handle @NintendoUK. Tournaments
Saturday 19th October – Splatoon 2 UK Championship 2019-2020 Qualifier
EGX 2019 will host a qualifier for the Splatoon 2 UK Championship 2019-2020.
We’re accepting pre-registration for the qualifier from full teams of four or five people. To secure your team’s place in the tournament please send an email to NintendoCommunity@Nintendo.co.uk with the subject line “Splatoon 2 Tournament EGX 2019”, providing the names or tags of your team members*. Please note that you will need to purchase a ticket to enter EGX 2019, which you can do so at the EGX 2019 website.
Teams can also still register at the event from 10am on Thursday 17th October, if there is space available, at the Tournament desk at the Nintendo stand. For players not in full teams that attend the event and wish to compete, we will endeavour to match any squids for hire with others looking to create a team if there is space in the tournament.

Sunday 20th October - Super Smash Bros. Ultimate UK Team Cup 2019-2020 Qualifier

The Legend of Zelda cosplay competition
Cosplayers in a The Legend of Zelda cosplay, as any character from the history of the franchise, who attend EGX 2019 on Saturday 19th October 2019 can take part in an on-stage cosplay event on the Nintendo stage between 3pm and 4pm! The competition will be judged by professional cosplayers, and photos of the entrants will be published on official Nintendo social channels. The winner of the competition will be awarded a special pack of The Legend of Zelda prizes including:
• The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening Limited Edition
• Link (Link’s Awakening) amiibo
• A The Legend of Zelda themed goody bag from the Nintendo Official UK Store
If you’d like to take part in this celebration of The Legend of Zelda then please send an email to nintendocommunity@nintendo.co.uk under the subject line “The Legend of Zelda Cosplay” with your contact details and the name of the character you will be cosplaying as at the event. Entries close 12:00 noon on Tuesday 15th October 2019. You can also still register at the event from 10am on Thursday 17th October, if there is space available. The Legend of Zelda cosplay competition Terms and conditions
1. Entry is open to residents of Great Britain, excluding employees and the immediate families of the Promoter, its agents or anyone professionally connected with the promotion.
2. If you are under 18 you are representing that you have consent from your parents/guardian to enter the competition in accordance with our terms and conditions and privacy policy.
3. By entering the competition, entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
4. Email applications to enter the competition will close at 12:00 noon on Tuesday 15th October 2019. Applications to enter at the event will close at 14:00 on Saturday 19th October 2019.
5. Applications should be emailed to nintendocommunity@nintendo.co.uk with the subject line “The Legend of Zelda Cosplay” and include the contact details of the person entering, plus the name of The Legend of Zelda character they intend to cosplay.
6. Costumes must: (i) represent an existing or recognisable character from The Legend of Zelda franchise (e.g. Link, Zelda, Marin etc.); (ii) be in good taste and appropriate for a family-friendly event; and (iii) not use any substances that may potentially interfere with another participant’s costume. If you are wearing body paint or make-up, please make sure it will not come in contact with others. Do not bring anything on stage that could damage the other costumes or leave anything on stage. The Promoter is unable to provide a secure area for personal items and entrants are responsible for their own belongings.
7. Entrants will require a ticket to EGX 2019 on 19th October 2019 and will need to make themselves available to take part in an on-stage cosplay parade at 15:00 on Saturday 19th October 2019. Participants are required to meet at the @NintendoUKVS Tournament registration desk at 14:30.
8. One winner will be selected by an independent judging panel according to which outfit is considered to be the most creative, original and apt. The overall winner will be decided live at EGX 2019 on Saturday 19th October 2019 and notified immediately.
9. The winner will each receive a Nintendo Switch Lite, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening Limited Edition, Link (Link’s Awakening) amiibo and a The Legend of Zelda themed Goody bag.
10. There is no cash or other prize alternatives. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute any prize for an alternative of equal or greater value.
11. All entries must be made directly by the person entering the competition. No responsibility can be accepted for entries lost, delayed or corrupted, or due to computer error in transit.
12. The Promoter reserves the right to verify all entries and the winner, including, but not limited to, age and eligibility to enter, and to refuse to award the prize, or withdraw prize entitlement, where there are reasonable grounds to believe there has been a breach of these terms and conditions or any instructions forming part of this promotions entry requirements.
