Game rolls, jolts or appears in pieces
The image problem only occurs in certain games:
Please check (using the game instructions) whether the corresponding game has a PAL 60 Hz mode, and if so whether your TV is able to depict image signals received in PAL 60 Hz. (You will also find detailed information on this in the FAQs on the Nintendo GameCube system under the "Information on PAL 60 Hz mode" chapter.)
The game only has a PAL 60 HZ mode
Please check whether the Hz setting on the TV matches that of the game.
If this is not successful, test the game and Nintendo GameCube on another TV that is able to depict PAL 60 Hz.
If the game still shows the same image problems - if possible - test the affected game with another Nintendo GameCube on a TV that is able to depict PAL 60 Hz.
The game can play both in PAL 50 Hz and PAL 60 HZ mode
Please check whether the Hz setting on the game matches that of the TV. There follows more information on setting the Hz for the relevant Nintendo GameCube games:
- When a game that supports 50 Hz and 60 Hz is started, a selection screen is displayed. You can choose between 50 and 60 Hz.
- For some games the selection screen is not shown when you start the game again as the GameCube "remembers" the earlier setting. You can open the selection screen at any time by holding down the B button during start up.
If this is not successful, please test whether the game works in another Nintendo GameCube (ensure that the Hz settings match on the game and TV).
The game does not have a PAL 60 HZ mode
If possible, connect your Nintendo GameCube to another TV to exclude a defect with the TV.
If this is not successful, if possible, test the affected game in another Nintendo GameCube.
