How do I find my Nintendo Network ID on Wii U?

On the Wii U Menu, touch the user icon in the top-left corner. A user's Nintendo Network ID is displayed in orange, beneath the user's Mii and nickname.

If the background of a user's Mii is grey, this user account does not have a registered Nintendo Network ID. User accounts with registered Nintendo Network IDs have Mii characters with blue or orange backgrounds.

I have a Wii U and multiple Nintendo 3DS systems. Can I use the same Nintendo Network ID on all of them?

A Nintendo Network ID can be used on one Wii U console and one Nintendo 3DS system only. It is not possible to use the same Nintendo Network ID on multiple Nintendo 3DS systems.

You can create multiple user accounts on Wii U, each with individual Nintendo Network IDs. This way everyone can have their own Nintendo Network ID to use on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
