    How to Charge the SEGA Mega Drive Control Pad

    In this article, you'll learn how to charge the SEGA Mega Drive Control Pad for use with Nintendo Switch consoles.

    Note

    • It takes approximately 3.5 hours to fully charge a SEGA Mega Drive Control Pad.
    • Once the SEGA Mega Drive Control Pad is fully charged, the recharge LED beside the USB port will turn off.
    • The SEGA Mega Drive Control Pad can also be charged by connecting it to a licensed accessory.

    Complete these steps

    The SEGA Mega Drive Control Pad can be charged in the following ways:

    While connected directly to the Nintendo Switch AC adapter.

    Connect the Nintendo Switch AC adapter (model HAC-002) to the USB port at the top of the SEGA Mega Drive Control Pad, and then to a wall outlet.

    While connected to the Nintendo Switch dock.

    1. Connect the Nintendo Switch AC adapter to the dock and then to a wall outlet.
      • The Nintendo Switch console does not need to be placed in the dock in order to charge the SEGA Mega Drive Control Pad.
    2. Connect the USB charging cable to an available USB port on the dock, then to the USB port at the top of the SEGA Mega Drive Control Pad.
