Poké Ball Plus Will No Longer Charge
Description:
When Poké Ball Plus is connected to a supported power source (Nintendo Switch AC adapter, Nintendo Switch dock, mobile phone charger, etc.), the internal battery will not charge.
Important:
The rechargeable battery in Poké Ball Plus has a safety feature where the battery will stop charging if it has not reached a full charge after seven or more hours of continuous charging.
For example, if you play Pokémon GO non-stop while Poké Ball Plus is charging, the unit might stop charging because it has not reached a full charge after an extended period of time.
Additional Information:
Poké Ball Plus does not have a built-in indicator to show that the battery is charging. However, if you suspect that Poké Ball Plus will no longer charge, there’s a way that this can be verified.
What to Do:
- Charge Poké Ball Plus and ensure that it is not in use during this time.
- When Poké Ball Plus begins to charge, a brief charging chime will go off. If the unit is muted, it will briefly vibrate.
- After allowing Poké Ball Plus to charge for three hours, check the remaining battery charge on the unit in Support Mode.
Note: If Poké Ball Plus is paired to a Nintendo Switch console, you can check if the accessory is charging by going to the HOME Menu > “Controllers.”
- While Poké Ball Plus is charging, the lightning bolt & battery icon will be displayed below the oval-shaped controller.
Was the battery on Poké Ball Plus able to charge?
Continue using Poké Ball Plus as usual and monitor the situation.
- If there is no indication that Poké Ball Plus is able to charge, try the following:
- Use a different AC adapter
- Use a different USB port (if plugged into the Nintendo Switch dock or other USB-compatible device)
- Use a different USB cable (if plugged into the Nintendo Switch dock or other USB-compatible device)
