Unable to Detach the Joy-Con From The Joy-Con Strap
Description:
The Joy-Con strap cannot be detached from the Joy-Con controller.
What to Do:
The Joy-Con straps are positioned properly when the - Button on the Joy-Con (L) is aligned with the "-" symbol on one of the Joy-Con straps, and the the + Button on the Joy-Con (R) is aligned with the "+" symbol on the other Joy-Con strap, as shown below:
- If the Joy-Con and Joy-Con strap are connected as shown above, to detach the Joy-Con strap, follow these steps.
- Ensure the slide lock at the bottom of the Joy-Con strap is in the “unlock” position.
- Carefully slide the Joy-Con downward.
- To detach the Joy-Con strap, it is not necessary to press the release button on the back of the Joy-Con controller.
- Ensure the slide lock at the bottom of the Joy-Con strap is in the “unlock” position.
- If the Joy-Con and Joy-Con strap are not connected as shown above, click here for steps on how to separate them.
Situation Not Resolved:
In the event that one or both of the Joy-Con controllers cannot be detached from the Joy-Con straps, the affected Joy-Con controller(s) and Joy-Con strap(s) will need to be repaired.
