Prepare for the Splatoon 2 Global Testfire – download the software now!

It’s almost time. The free Splatoon 2 Global Testfire demo event kicks off Friday 24th March on Nintendo Switch, and you can prepare yourselves right now by downloading* the necessary software from Nintendo eShop. You can even download it directly to your system from the Splatoon 2 gamepage**.
Alright, we understand you may have some questions. Not to worry, we’re here to provide the answers you crave.
What do I need to take part in the Splatoon 2 Global Testfire demo event?
First things first, you’ll need a Nintendo Switch, Nintendo’s new home gaming console that allows you to play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the go. You’ll also need a wireless (or wired if that’s what you’re into) internet connection and a Nintendo Account.
What is a Nintendo Account?
It’s an account you have with Nintendo. You need it to download and play the Splatoon 2 Global Testfire.
How do I create a Nintendo Account?
Oh it’s easy. You can create one from scratch using an email address, or you can use Facebook, Twitter or Google. You just go to the Create a Nintendo Account page and follow the instructions.
When can I take part in the Splatoon 2 Global Testfire demo event?

Which maps will be playable?!
You’ll be able to take part in 4-on-4 Turf War action in Musselforge Fitness and The Reef during the Global Testfire and you’ll be able to try out four different main weapons, including the incredible Splat Dualies, as well as remixed versions of the trusty Splattershot, Splat Roller and Splat Charger. Ah Splat Roller, where would we be without you?
What’s the best way to play the Splatoon 2 Global Testfire demo event?
It’s entirely up to you! You can play it in TV mode of course, but you can splat in tabletop or handheld mode if someone decides it’s time to hog the TV.
When is Splatoon 2 arriving on Nintendo Switch?
This winter!
