    • "A member of your family group already has a Nintendo Switch Online family membership or Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack family membership, so you cannot purchase this membership" (in Nintendo eShop on a Nintendo Switch console)
    • "You already have a Nintendo Switch Online family membership or Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack family membership, so you cannot purchase this membership" or "You already have a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack family membership, so you cannot purchase this membership" (on the official Nintendo website)

    These messages indicate that you are currently part of a Nintendo Account family group that already has a Nintendo Switch Online family membership or Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack family membership.

    What to do

    • Only the Nintendo Account that was used to purchase the Nintendo Switch Online family membership can change to a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack family membership.
    • It is not possible to change to an individual membership when you are part of a family membership.
      • If you purchased the family membership, you will need to wait until your current membership expires, then purchase the desired membership.
      • If someone else in your family group purchased the family membership, you can leave the family group and purchase an individual membership for yourself.
