Playtest: Big Brain Academy for Wii
12/07/2007
Prepare to get your brain in gear as you enrol at Big Brain Academy where the most important lesson you will learn is how to have fun!
As well as inviting you to put your mental prowess to the test in single player mode, Big Brain Academy includes a frenzied multiplayer mode for you and your friends to get your heads around. Up to eight people can compete together in Brain Quiz, Mental Marathon and Mind Sprint, each of which offer their own unique challenges and never fail to generate a party atmosphere as you battle to make sure you don't finish bottom of the class!
In Brain Quiz, players split into teams of two or more and pass the Wii Remote around as each person tackles a mental challenge of their choice and tries to secure as many points as possible for their team. When it's your turn to step up to the plate, a picture of your Mii will appear on screen.
Mental Marathon will see you playing your part in a team of up to eight people as you try to string together the longest possible winning streak by completing one exercise after another without making a mistake. You'll feel the pressure rising as the Wii Remote is passed to you, and can expect to hear a few shouts of helpful' advice from your friends as they try to ensure you don't let the side down!
Mind Sprint will test your nerves as well as your brain as you race against another opponent or team to get through a set number of problems as fast as possible. With the game screen split down the middle you will be able to see your rival's progress and know if you need to up your tempo or if you can afford to take your foot off the gas on your way towards the finish line! Once again, up to eight players can compete in Mind Sprint, facing off in teams by using two Wii Remotes. You can also use one Wii Remote and share it among a team of up to four players as you compete against a simulated rival via their Student record.
Student records keep track of how other Big Brain Academy students have been performing in the game, and choosing to play against another person's record means the difficulty of the challenge you face in Mind Sprint will be determined by the brain weight of your simulated rival. You can even share your Student record with your Wii Friends via WiiConnect24, and save up to 24 simulated opponents to take on whenever you want.
Whether you are playing Brain Quiz, Mental Marathon or Mind Sprint, the game's multiplayer mode is always a laugh a minute as you and your friends do your best not to slip-up in the frantic race to become a true A+ student at Big Brain Academy!
Big Brain Academy for Wii will be in shops 20 July, only on Wii.
