Nintendo UK introduces @NintendoUKVS Live! An event celebrating fun competitive Nintendo gaming.

Nintendo fans of the UK mark your calendars, Nintendo UK is kickstarting the rest of its 2018 event schedule with @NintendoUKVS Live: London, taking place 28-29 July at the Royal Horticultural Halls, London. from 10:00-20:00. From hardened competitors seeking fame and glory in intense tournaments, to more relaxed gamers eager to chill-out with like-minded fans and go hands-on with the latest games for Nintendo Switch, @NintendoUKVS Live: London will provide social competitive entertainment for players of all skill levels and abilities.

On Saturday 28 July the @NintendoUKVS Live: London event will play host to the first official qualifier for the Splatoon 2 UK Championship 2018. For more information about this ongoing championship series and details on how to take part, please check out the Splatoon 2 UK Championship 2018 announcement here.
This event will also be the first place in the UK to go hands-on with the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The game will be playable on both days, with a headline invitational tournament running on Sunday 29 July.
As well as these headline events, multiplayer favourites like Mario Tennis Aces, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Killer Queen Black, Fortnite, DRAGON BALL FighterZ, Rocket League, Overcooked 2, Paladins, EA SPORTS FIFA 19 and Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate will be available alongside other upcoming titles for free play all weekend!
There will also be an exciting stage show schedule to watch and take part in at the event, including the brand new @NintendoUKVS Game Show which made its debut at MCM Comic Con London this May. There will also be on stage presentations, including an Overcooked 2 showcase with developers Ghost Town Games. Plus we’ll have on stage masterclasses, including one for Mario Tennis Aces with top player, J.Miller! Specific timings will be announced on the @NintendoUKVS Twitter account, so stay tuned!
Of course, the Splatoon 2 UK Championship qualifier and the Super Smash Bros. Invitational will be a big part of the show too. Get the details below.

Saturday 28 July – Splatoon 2 UK Championship 2018: Qualifier Tournament
This Tournament will offer qualifier spots in both the Inkling League, for teams of players aged 13 and under, and the Octo League, for teams of any age. Pre-registration is now closed. Thanks to everyone who registered their place! For players not in full teams that attend the event and wish to compete, we will endeavour to match any squids for hire with others looking to create a team if there is space in the tournament.
Sunday 29 July – The @NintendoUKVS Live: London, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Invitational
@NintendoUKVS Live: London will play host to an invitational tournament in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, giving top UK Super Smash Bros. players a chance to show their abilities in this new title. We’ll also have a cosplay exhibition match featuring the best costumes at the show! More details will be announced soon, so please follow @NintendoUKVS on Twitter to keep up to date with this event.
Other activities include a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Time Trial challenge running all weekend, a Killer Queen Black “winner stays on” challenge continuing throughout the event, and a Mario Tennis Aces tournament taking place on the Sunday. If you want to take part in the Mario Tennis Aces tournament, you can register for it on the day.

Please note that @NintendoUKVS Live will be live streamed and there will be filming and photographing taking place. Excerpts from these recordings may be used for future marketing purposes. If you’re attending the event, make sure to bring your Nintendo Switch so you can play with other fans at the event. We’ll have charging stations for you to use as well! We’ll also have some fun Fortnite activities taking place at the event so make sure you bring it along with you!
