How to Add Funds to Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch

In this article, you'll learn how to add funds to Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch using a credit card, PayPal or Nintendo eShop Card.

If you are only adding funds to purchase a single game, you can add funds directly when you purchase the game.
An internet connection and a Nintendo Account are required to access Nintendo eShop.

Select the picture of your icon in the upper-right corner to access your Account Information.
Select “Add Funds” in the upper-right corner.
Select “PayPal”.
- This option is only available to Nintendo Account owners aged 18 years or older, in the following countries:

  - Croatia
  - Cyprus
  - Czech Republic
  - Denmark
  - Estonia
  - Finland
  - France
  - Germany
  - Greece
  - Hungary
  - Ireland
  - Italy

  - Netherlands

  - Slovenia

Link your PayPal account to your Nintendo Account if you have not already done so.
Select the currency amount that you want to add (for example, €10, €20, €50 or €100).
Select “Add Funds”. The funds will automatically be applied to your balance.

Select the picture of your icon in the upper-right corner to access your Account Information.
Select “Add Funds” in the upper-right corner.
Select “Credit Card”.
Select the amount of money that you want to add.
Enter the credit card number, expiry date, security code and post code, then select “OK”.
- If Nintendo eShop exists for your region, credit cards issued from your region will not work in a different region’s Nintendo eShop. (For example, credit cards issued in the US will only work in Nintendo eShop in the US.)
Select “Confirm”, then “Add Funds”. The funds will automatically be applied to your balance.

Select “Redeem Code” on the left side of the screen.
- You can also reach this by selecting “Add Funds” in your Account Information, then “Nintendo eShop Card".
Enter the 16-character prepaid code, then select “OK”.
- Any letters and symbols not used with prepaid codes (i.e. O, I, Z, commas, hyphens, etc.) will be disabled from the on-screen keyboard.
Select “Confirm”, then “Add Funds”. The funds will automatically be applied to your balance.
