The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate UK Team Cup 2019 – 2020 Grand Final and Splatoon 2 UK Championship 2019–2020 Grand Final take place at Insomnia66!

It was recently announced by Player 1 Events that Insomnia66 which was due to take place from 10-13 April 2020 at NEC Birmingham has now been cancelled due to COVID-1 outbreak. Nintendo UK supports this decision and has decided to put the planned Splatoon 2 UK Championship 2019–2020 Grand Final and the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate UK Team Cup 2019–2020 Grand Final on hold until further notice. The health and safety of everyone involved in the tournament, including players, tournament staff, and spectators, is paramount. We would like to express our concern and support for all those affected by the coronavirus during this challenging time.
After months of fierce competition in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Splatoon 2 the UK grand finals are upon us! The Splatoon 2 UK Championship 2019–2020 Grand Final and the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate UK Team Cup 2019–2020 Grand Final will take place at Insomnia66 on 11th April and 12th April respectively. Both will be livestreamed on Twitch and YouTube!
Splatoon 2 UK Championship 2019–2020 Grand Final – Splaturday 11th April
On Splaturday 11th April we’ll be hosting the Splatoon 2 UK Championship 2019–2020 Grand Final where eight teams will come together to compete for the trophy! The Top 8 starts at 13:00 GMT at the Nintendo Tournament Zone, with the Top 3 coming together and competing for glory on the Insomnia Main Stage at 16:00 GMT! The Top 8 will be double-elimination.
Qualified teams so far include Team Mako, Team 4D, Pink Pixies, Drunken Sailors, Release the Quacken and Cosmos.
Not yet qualified? Fear not, as there are still some online qualifiers yet to take place. Find out about them here. There will also be a last chance qualifier taking place at the Nintendo Tournament Zone on 11th April at 11:00 GMT. The last chance qualifier will be single-elimination format.
To pre-register your place in the last chance qualifier, please send an email to NintendoCommunity@nintendo.co.uk with the subject line “Splatoon 2 last chance qualifier” and include your team name. Places in the last chance qualifier will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate UK Team Cup 2019–2020 Grand Final – Sunday 12th April
Sunday 12th April is all about Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, with the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate UK Team Cup 2019–2020 Grand Final taking place from 14:30 GMT at the Nintendo Tournament Zone, with the semi-finals and Grand Final taking place from 16:00 GMT on the Insomnia Main Stage! The Top 8 will be single-elimination.
There’s still time to qualify in our online qualifiers! Find out more about them here. There will also be a last chance qualifier on the same day. From 11:00 GMT at the Nintendo Tournament Zone you’ll be able to compete for the final spot in the Grand Final! The last chance qualifier will be single-elimination format.
