Though born to the royal family of Hoshido, Corrin is abducted at a young age by Nohr's King Garon and raised there as his daughter.
Though ignorant of her lineage for much of her life, she discovers that she has the mysterious ability to change into a dragon, and to manipulate the draconic energy in the Dragon Veins embedded in terrain throughout the land.
The truth of her birth comes to light as a result of a war that erupts between Nohr and Hoshido, placing her in the untenable position of choosing between her two conflicting homelands. Faced with this agonizing choice, Corrin takes up the sacred blade Yato, bequeathed to her by her mother, Mikoto, and resolves to put an end to the war.
