Error Codes: 2002-2000 to 2002-2499
Steps to help you when:
- An error message for "Unable to access microSD card" appears while using a microSD card on Nintendo Switch.
- You receive an error code within the range 2002-2000 to 2002-2499.
What to do
MicroSD card is inserted in the console MicroSD is not inserted in the console
- Check that your console has the latest system update.
- Power off the Nintendo Switch console.
Important: Always shut off the console before removing or inserting a microSD card. If a microSD card is inserted or removed while the console is powered on or in sleep mode, you will be prompted to restart the console.
- Remove the microSD card by gently pushing down on the top of the card until you hear a click, then sliding it out of the slot.
- Check for any dirt or debris on the microSD card terminals, and, if dirty, gently wipe the terminals with a soft, dry cloth, such as a glasses cleaning cloth, taking care to not damage them.
- Re-insert the microSD card.
- Check for corrupted data.
- Format the microSD card.
- Redownload content that was saved to the microSD card prior to formatting to see if the error persists. Error still displayed
- Use a different microSD card.
- Remove the microSD card and download the software directly to the console's system memory.
If the error persists with multiple supported microSD cards, or when downloading directly to the system memory, the Nintendo Switch console will need to be repaired.

- Restart the console by holding down the POWER Button for three seconds, then selecting Power Options, followed by Restart.
- Check for corrupted data.
- If the error occurs with downloadable software, delete and redownload the software. Error still displayed
If the error persists and a microSD card is not being used, then the Nintendo Switch console will need to be repaired.
