A mystery malady

An epidemic is sweeping the Mushroom Kingdom! Throughout the land, Toads are swelling up like balloons, due to an strange illness called the Blorbs. To combat this crisis, Princess Peach calls an emergency meeting with Mario, Luigi, Starlow, Toadsworth and many of the kingdom’s finest present.

When Bowser crashes this impromptu assembly and is unceremoniously thrown out of Peach’s Castle, the Koopa king looks to enact his revenge.

As Mario and Luigi, you’ll roam around Bowser’s innards and assist the surly scoundrel overcome problems both around the Mushroom Kingdom, and within his body. Bowser not strong enough to lift something? Supercharge his arm muscles with a quick rhythm game! Has Bowser bit off more than he can chew? Head to his stomach and get his digestion working overtime with an enzyme-energizing minigame!

By interacting with objects on the overworld, the lumbering baddie can aid Mario and Luigi’s internal escapades too. He can, for example, drink gallons of water to flood his throat, allowing the brothers to get to places they couldn’t previously reach. If they work together, there’s no problem this unlikely trio can’t solve!

Brothers in arms

The plucky Bros. can use their trusty hammers or jump on the enemy’s noggin to dish out damage. Time your moves right to give your attacks a bit more oomph, or even dodge an incoming whack from your opponents!

Win a battle and you’ll gain precious “EXP” that’ll help your heroes become even stronger. You can also gain an edge in combat by equipping the Bros. with special Badges. These nifty accessories can boost your stats and even give you new skills to use, once you fulfil specific conditions.

Like a boss

When it comes to brawling, Bowser is no slouch! This burly baddie can slug foes with powerful punches or turn up the heat with his red hot fire breath! Just like Mario and Luigi, the Koopa king can also beef up his attacks and defend against incoming blows with well-timed button presses.

Thanks to that mysterious mushroom, Bowser can also suck up items and even inhale smaller foes, allowing Mario and Luigi to join in on the battle from within his stomach. Triumph in combat and Bowser will gain EXP, allowing this big bad to become even bigger and badder!

Attack in style

When Bowser needs to lay the smackdown on his foes, he can summon his cronies to deal devastating damage with special Brawl Attacks. From Shy Guys catapulting him into enemies via a giant slingshot, to Magikoopas unleashing a hail of fireballs, these moves are a sight to behold. As you rescue more of his forces from Fawful’s clutches, more Brawl Attacks will be added to Bowser’s repertoire.

One colossal Koopa

When adversaries are really piling on the pressure, Bowser can grow to ginormous size to battle gigantic enemies! During these titanic clashes, hold your Nintendo 3DS sideways like a book and use the Touch Screen to fight back against fearsome foes.

Running low on items? You can tap either a Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad or Bowser amiibo (sold separately) to receive some goodies that’ll assist on your quest.

Seek out a cure for the Blorbs in Bowser Jr.’s Journey! In this brand new adventure available as soon as you start the game, take command of your own squad of soldiers and help the bratty baddie-to-be fend off Fawful’s forces in real-time tactical skirmishes.

Like father, like son

Squad up

Before each mission, you’ll be informed of the enemies you’re set to encounter, ranging from Fawful’s troops to disgruntled members of Bowser’s army. Each soldier falls into one of three classes – ranged, flying or melee – with some units having specific weaknesses or strengths, so preparation is key when constructing your squad.

Select your troops and unlock bonuses like increased attack or defence for your entire squad by arranging them in specific formations. Set certain units like the Koopalings as the First Officer of your fighting force and utilise Captain Commands. From summoning a shield around your troops to calling lightning down on the battlefield, these special abilities can really turn the tide of a fight!

Magic beans

Along with levelling up them, boost your platoon’s stats via special Beans you gain after triumphing in battle. An army marches on its stomach, so feed your squad a balanced diet to ensure high stats across the board. Need some assistance out in the field? You can receive Beans to enhance your army by tapping either a Bowser Jr., Goomba, Koopa Troopa, Boo or Bowser amiibo.
